Title: Understanding the impact of home visiting on child, parent and family outcomes
Study Description: The purpose of this single-case design study is to examine the impact of Baby TALK home visiting services on families with young children age birth to three years enrolled in the District 69 Skokie/Evanston Prevention Initiative-Family Support Program. The study involves 30 parent-child pairs and seeks to address the following research questions: What was the impact of the Baby TALK Home Visiting Model between on the following outcomes? A. Parenting behaviors; b. Child language development; c. Child’s social-emotional development; d. Parent connectedness to child, family and community.

Title: Understanding the impact of 0-5 services on kindergarten readiness
Description: This study uses secondary data collected across the Family Support Program (birth-to-three home visiting) and Teaching Our Preschoolers (3-5 preschool program) programs and compares with data from the kindergarten assessment instruments used at age 5. Comparisons can examine outcomes based enrollment in 0-3 services only, enrollment in 0-5 services, enrollment in 3-5 services only or no 0-5 services received.

Community Outcomes
Title: Mixed-Methods Observational Study (0-5 years) focused on school and community engagement
Description: This study uses secondary data collected across the PI and PFA programs that speak to family needs and school-community engagement. Using the Life Skills Progression and Family Resource tool (PI program), reviewing the transition data from 0-3 to 3-5 services, and focus groups with parents and community members, this study can examine levels of parent/family engagement across school and community settings. The study can also identify areas of unmet needs that can inform stakeholders seeking to ensure a comprehensive network of resources is available to families and strengthen the family-school-community partnership.

Program Experiences
Title: Mixed-Methods Observational Study (0-5 years) focused on the transition between the PI and PFA programs.
Description: This study uses secondary data collected across the PI and PFA programs, home visiting observation videos, data collected specific to the transition between programs, and relevant information available from the Birth-to-Five Coordinator. The study explores how system level supports facilitate family transitions for prevention initiative home visiting to PreK services. The study also seeks to understand what aids in a successful transition as well the experience of families and providers who navigate the process.
